The catastrophe of the Space Shuttle Columbia coming apart in the atmosphere has darkened this day for the whole world. There is probably no way to imagine a more daunting experience than to be contained within some vessel that many miles in the sky and blowing apart. Very sad for all the people involved in the Space Program. There seems to be a budget problem in the NASA program, and the Columbia was certainly not on its maiden voyage. Unless we are willing to fully fund the NASA projects, we should not risk this kind of tragedy without completelt funded, cost no object type of support.
